Founded and led by Chef Clare Bock, who brings more than three decades of culinary experience, Appetite Catering began in Cape Town with a simple goal: to bring fresh, flavourful food and professional service to every occasion.
What started as a small local catering business has grown into a trusted name for weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations across the region. From intimate gatherings to large-scale functions, our approach has always been the same: food made with care, served with confidence, and tailored to each client’s vision.

Driven by a lifelong passion for food, Clare began her culinary journey after completing a Cordon Bleu cooking course in the 1980s. Her early experience included working at Hulala Guest House, a twelve-bedroom country retreat, and at The Silver Palate, a catering company in Gauteng, where she learned the importance of flavour, presentation, and hospitality.
In 1990, she co-founded her first catering business, Chefettes Caterers, in Gauteng with a friend. Over 15 years, they learned the ropes of running their own company—building strong relationships with clients, refining their craft, and managing everything from small private events to large-scale functions.
After moving back home to Cape Town in 2006, she started Appetite Catering the following year—born out of a dedication to bring quality, thoughtful cuisine to every event. What began as a small local catering business has grown into a trusted name for weddings, corporate functions, and private celebrations throughout Cape Town.
